A Simple Monthly Content Calendar for Service Businesses
A content calendar can become difficult to maintain when it demands more posts than you can consistently produce. Start with one platform, four posts per month, and a repeatable writing process.
Choose LinkedIn or Instagram using evidence about your audience and the formats you can make. Set a 90-day review period as a planning choice, not a deadline for promised results.
Four Posts Across the Month
Week 1: A documented finding. Share something you can substantiate. Template: "While reviewing [documented sample], I noticed [verified finding]. Here is the check you can try yourself: [steps]." If you do not have a documented finding, explain a useful process instead.
Week 2: A tip or how-to. Show how to check a website contact form, explain a service, or prepare for an initial consultation. Give readers a specific action they can complete.
Week 3: A result or worked example. Template: "We changed [specific action]. Over [measurement period], the documented result was [your verified result], measured using [source]." Include relevant limitations and permission to share. If no client result is available, use a clearly labelled hypothetical example or show your own work.
Week 4: An accurate offer. "Get the checklist" or "Join our weekly email" is enough if you actually provide it. Use a clear next step and a working link. Do not invent subscriber counts or limited availability.
Publish only documented results, and verify credentials and permissions before using any template.
Batch and Schedule
Collect source notes first, draft the four posts, then check every factual claim and link. Adapt the format to your chosen platform and leave time to review replies after publication.
Schedule the four posts across the coming month, roughly one per week. That is four posts per month, or 48 posts per year. It is a monthly plan, so you do not need to fill every week of the year with a separate post.
Track useful responses, website visits, and inquiries alongside the time spent writing. After the review period, keep useful topics, revise unclear offers, and adjust the workload based on your own evidence.
Need topics? The 12 post prompts for service businesses can fill this calendar. Then use the measurement guide to assess whether posts lead to relevant inquiries.
Help with Writing
The Content Engine costs $297 upfront for the first 3 months, then $299/month. It includes 10 posts per month for one platform, LinkedIn or Instagram, and two edit rounds per month. We write and deliver the posts; you publish them. Profile optimisation and publishing are not included. After payment, we email a short discovery questionnaire about your business, audience, and voice.
